Jigawa State University of Medical and Allied Health Sciences was formerly known as Khadijah University Majia, which was a conventional private university that focused on academic programs that span from medical to social science and was discontinued following the university’s acquisition by the Jigawa State Government.
The acquisition of Khadijah University that saw the renaming of the university saw the university changing its direction, making it a university that will only specialize in health-based courses, and because of this, three programs were used to commence this vision, and there are B.NSc Nursing Science, BMLS Medical Laboratory Science, and DPT Doctor of Physiotherapy
The acquisition of Khadijah University was done on September 30, 2024, but it was officially converted and known as a state university in 2026 following National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation.
It should be noted that Jigawa State University of Medical and Allied Health Sciences only offers health-related courses and not management, social science, or science courses.
