Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic is a state-owned polytechnic that is located in Zaria, Kaduna State. The polytechnic has a long history; even with the establishment of Kaduna State, the polytechnic was established as far back as 1989.
Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic was not established initially as a polytechnic; the institution started as a Universal Primary Education (UPE) Center and also served as a teacher training center and other educational training before it was upgraded by the Kaduna Government in 1989.
The establishment of the institution as an upgrade was done by the then military state governor of Kaduna State, Colonel Dangiwa Umar, for the purpose of providing training and development of techniques in applied sciences, engineering, and commerce, as well as other spheres of learning.
The Polytechnic was named after Malami Nuhu Bamalli, who died in 2001, who at one served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1965 to 1966 and also the Magajin Garin Zazzau, the second most senior prince in the Zazzau Emirate.
Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic is an institution with multi-campus; the main campus is located in the Old UPE, along Kaduna-Zaria Road, while the other two campuses are located in Tudun Wada, Gaskiya, and Samaru, in the Zangon Kataf Local Government of Kaduna State.
