Edo State University: Courses, School Fees, Cut-Off Mark & Admission Requirements For 2026/2027

Edo State University is a state-owned university that is owned by the state government of Edo State. The institution is located in Iyamho, making the university change its name from Edo State University Uzaire to Edo State University Iyamho. This is due to the changing of the location of the university.

Edo State University was established on 23 March 2016, which is in synchronization with the year the University was approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Federal Government Executive (FEC).

Established in 2016, the university was able to climb the ladder in terms of achievement following the university’s nomination as the best state university in 2018 by NUC, for which the university won the award that same year.

When the establishment of Edo State University came, there were a lot of controversies and grievances from the people who pointed out that the other universities and higher learning institutions should have been upgraded and improved instead of establishing a new university.
