Mai-Idris Alooma Polytechnic, also known as MIAPOLY, is a state-owned polytechnic that is located in Geidam Town, Yobe State.
Mai-Idris Alooma Polytechnic is a state-owned polytechnic that was established by Yobe State following the creation of the new Yobe State, and in 1992, the decision to establish the polytechnic was initiated, and the plan was to move it to Damaturu.
The plan to move it to Damaturu was averted due to the Federal Polytechnic decision to establish Federal Polytechnic in Damaturu; hence, the creation of the new polytechnic was moved to its present condition.
Mai-Idris Alooma Polytechnic is named after Mai-Idris Alooma, who was a prominent king who ruled in the ancient Kanem-Bornu Empire in order to preserve his legacy.

• Candidates must sit for JAMB UTME and obtain the required score for the chosen course. The stated minimum score is 100.
• NABTEB, WAEC Technical, or City & Guilds certificates in relevant trades may be accepted, with required passes in core subjects such as English language and mathematics.

• Candidate must possess an ND in a relevant field from a recognized polytechnic.
• Candidate must provide evidence of completing an Industrial Training (IT) attachment, usually one year.
